    US Consul General Brian Heath provides carriers to Sindh Police

    U.S. Consul General Brian Heath and officials from the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) transferred four carriers to the Sindh police. Sindh Inspector General Police Ghulam Haider Jamali and INL Attaché Brooke de Montluzin were present at the handover.

    Amos Hochstein, Special Envoy for International Energy Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, met with the American Business Council’s (ABC) Executive Committee in Karachi to discuss its energy needs and challenges. ABC President Arshad Saeed Husain and ABC Vice President Amin Muhammad Khowaja greeted the U.S. delegation, which included Andrea Richter, Chief of Staff, State Department Energy Bureau; James Schwemlein, Senior Advisor, Office of the Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Mike Curtis, Director of U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Pakistan’s Energy Office; and Chad Peterson, U.S. Consulate Karachi Political and Economic Chief.

    US Consulate Karachi marks World Intellectual Property Rights Day

    U.S. Consul General Brian Heath moderated a panel discussion to highlight intellectual property rights issues facing the music industry at Karachi’s National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA). The event is part of an awareness building campaign leading up to World IPR Day April 26. This year’s theme is "Get up, stand up, for music."

    USAID, Sindh Government break ground at Karachi school

    U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission Director Gregory Gottlieb and Sindh Minister for Education Nisar Ahmed Khuhro broke ground at the Damba Goath government school in Gadap Town. The event kicked off USAID-funded school construction in Karachi, under its Sindh Basic Education Program (SBEP).

    Ambassador Olson launches Lincoln Corner Quetta

    United States Ambassador to Pakistan Richard G. Olson launched Lincoln Corner Quetta at the University of Balochistan’s Law College, presenting a gift of 150 books for the new facility. U.S. Consul General Brian Heath, University of Balochistan Law College Vice Chancellor Javeid Iqbal, and Principal Amanullah Achakazai, as well as Pakistan U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) Quetta Chapter members, attended a ceremony commemorating the opening. The U.S. Ambassador and Consul General were in Quetta to meet with government officials, politicians and leaders of civil society.

    The Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted U.S. Consul General Brian Heath and members of the U.S. Consulate General Karachi’s Political and Economic Section for dinner to discuss advancing U.S. Pakistan business, trade and investment ties. Earlier, Mr. Heath and his team met with provincial government officials to talk about economic priorities.
