Consul General Karachi Hosts Dialogue With Young Pakistani Entrepreneurs

The newly arrived U.S. Consul General Michael Dodman met with a group of young Pakistani entrepreneurs today to learn about the opportunities and challenges they face.

During the discussion, the Consul General noted the importance of a strong and dynamic Pakistani economy and his desire to work to strengthen business ties between the United States and Pakistan. Reflecting on his work to promote business development in other countries, CG Dodman stated that "the United States can help support Pakistan's economic growth, but economic success will come from within Pakistan itself."

CG Dodman recently arrived to Karachi and assumed his leadership position. "I am looking forward to getting to know the people of this amazing city and throughout Sindh and Balochistan. It is a tremendous honor for me to represent the United States here," CG Dodman said.

The Consul General went on to add, "today is only the first of many dialogues that I look forward to continuing in the weeks and months ahead." CG Dodman plans to continue to meet this week with representatives of Karachi's vibrant civil society and with senior government officials.
