About Kay L Anske

Kay Anske assumed her duties as the U.S. Consul General in Karachi in August 2007, her second tour in Karachi. 

Ms. Anske joined the U.S. Foreign Service in January 1981. Her assignments abroad have included Montreal, Canada; Lubumbashi, Zaire; Bamako, Mali; Manila, Philippines; Mexico City, Mexico; Karachi, Pakistan; Guatemala City, Guatemala; Nairobi, Kenya, and Islamabad, Pakistan. In the last three assignments listed, she was the Consul General. In addition, she served seventeen months on the staff of Senator Edward Kennedy under a special State Department exchange program with Congress. In 2001, she returned to Washington after being selected to be a member of the Department’s prestigious Senior Seminar. She also served as the Director of the Office of Science and Technology Cooperation. 

A native of Texas, Ms. Kay Anske graduated from St. Mary’s University (San Antonio, Texas) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and political science. She also earned a minor in sociology from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Her Masters of Science degree in library and information science was awarded by the University of Texas (Austin, Texas). 

She is married to Ralph Anske, a retired Foreign Service Officer.
